In September 1987 Peter was transferred to Sydenham Section House from Harrow Road, where he took over as Catering Manager. This is where he first met Sue, who was then working there as the late turn catering assistant. At that time Sue was married and had a daughter, Michelle. Sue's marriage was not very happy and she ended up leaving her husband. Peter and Sue became good friends but Sue decided to leave her job as her ex still lived in the Sydenham area. Peter and Sue drifted apart after that and didn't see each other for nearly two years. Then one day Sue rang Peter at work to suggest Peter do the catering for her sisters wedding. Things moved on from there and Sue and Michelle moved in with Peter in June 1991. They both planned to get married but Sue fell pregnant with Anthony, who was born on 9th July 1992. The wedding plans continued but were further delayed by Peter's health. He was diagnosed with Diabetes and then had his first heart attack on 27th May 1993. He suffered from a split artery during an Angioplasty and was not allowed out of hospital until 3rd June 1993. He married Sue on 5th June 1993 at Bromley Registry Office. Peter's second marriage was not successful for too many reasons to mention here, and also ended in divorce.
